Behind Naeher and Tremendous Offensive Trio, No. 10 Women's Soccer Buries Bucknell, 4-2
Highlighted by another All-American performance from goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher (Seymour, Conn.), the No. 10 Nittany Lion women's soccer team (4-1) held off a feisty Bucknell squad (2-2-1) Sunday evening at Jeffrey Field to grab a 4-2 victory. Penn State's tremendous trio of All-American Katie Schoepfer (Waterford, Conn.), sophomore Dani Toney (Northville, Mich.) and newcomer Nikki Watts (Hungerford, England) produced most of the offense again for the Nittany Lions, with at least one of the three in on each goal against Bucknell.

Hayes to Miss Remainder of Season With Knee Injury
Penn State defensive end Jerome Hayes (Bayonne, N.J.) will miss the remainder of the 2008 season after suffering a serious knee injury in Saturday's 45-14 victory over Oregon State. A redshirt junior, Hayes tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a play in the fourth quarter, according to Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli, Penn State Director of Athletic Medicine.

No. 1 Women's Volleyball Sweeps Villanova, 3-0
Sophomore middle hitter Arielle Wilson (Broadview, Ill.) pounded 10 kills on .529 hitting with eight blocks to help the top-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team to a three-set sweep of Villanova (25-20, 25-12, 25-16) Saturday night in front of 3,311 fans. The Nittany Lions remain unbeaten at 6-0 and have yet to drop a set, while the Wildcats even their record at 3-3.

For the second consecutive game, the No. 6 Penn State field hockey team lost a low-scoring affair to a Top Five team, losing 1-0 to No. 4 Connecticut Saturday at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.

Nittany Lions Thump Oregon State, 45-14
Evan Royster rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns, Daryll Clark threw two TD passes and the Nittany Lions defense didn't miss a beat in a 45-14 win Saturday over the Beavers. Clark looked poised in the pocket in his second career start, finishing 14-of-23 passing for 215 yards, while also running for a 18-yard score. Jordan Norwood finished with a career-high 116 receiving yards on eight catches.

No. 1 Women's Volleyball Downs George Washington, 3-0
The top-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team swept George Washington (25-18, 25-15, 25-11) Saturday morning to improve to 5-0 for the year. The Nittany Lions host Villanova tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Rec Hall to close out action in the Nittany Lion Invitational. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for youth and $2 per person for groups of 10 or more. Penn State students can gain free admission with their PSU ID and all tickets will be available at the door.

I wondered when that question would come up. We're going to start with (Daryll) Clark and probably play (Pat) Devlin for sure some. And the other kid that I really think that we've got to give him a shot some time in there is (Paul) . . .
